Brandon
Brandon's story begins when he was only 2 years old.  He didn't seem much different from other 2-year olds except that he wasn't speaking.  As concerned parents, we consulted our pediatrician regarding Brandon's lack of vocabulary and began our journey of endless tests and consultations.  Nothing was conclusive, because we weren't sure if Brandon could speak but just didn't need or want to.

After receiving in-home therapy for a time, we were introduced to The Early Learning Institute's Turtle Creek Center.  Further evaluations at TELI helped to pinpoint Brandon's diagnosis as Speech Apraxia.  In consultation with TELI's staff and with everyone's input, we determined that Brandon needed intensive speech therapy.  Brandon spent 3 years at TELI and with some additional speech threapy services he transitioned successfully into kindergarten at Edgewood Primary.

Brandon is now in 1st grade, and celebrated a huge milestone on May 10, 2007.  He was the narrator in the Edgewood Primary Speech & Language Classroom's production of Mary Poppins.

Brandon didn't speak until he was almost 4 - but you would never know that now.  We are so proud of Brandon's accomplishments and we are extremely indebted to TELI and all those who have assisted Brandon over the years.
